Launch Support was created to help parents of highly dependent adult children find clarity, compassion, and practical tools to improve everyday life, without the pressure of clinical therapy.

Many parents we work with have previously tried “tough love” or ineffective counselling, only to feel exhausted, misunderstood, or stuck. You’re not alone and you deserve support that’s respectful, actionable, and grounded in real-world experience.

What This Work Is — And What It Isn’t

This is NOT psychotherapy or mental health treatment.

Our programs are solution-focused coaching and skills-based support designed to help you — the parent — navigate patterns, communicate more clearly, and set boundaries that serve your wellbeing and your family’s relationships in the here and now.

What this means:

  • We focus on behaviours, communication skills, and practical strategies, not diagnosis or clinical treatment.

  • We offer online courses, coaching tools, and supportive frameworks you can apply immediately.

  • This work can complement clinical care, if you or your family are already working with a therapist elsewhere.

The Launch Support coaching approach is intentionally distinct from regulated psychotherapy services so you have clarity about what you’re engaging with and what to expect.

Who We Support

Launch Support is for parents who:

  • Love their adult child but feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or unclear about next steps

  • Want practical guidance and renewed confidence in their parenting, not guilt or judgement

  • Are ready to take care of their own wellbeing while encouraging healthy independence

  • Appreciate support that focuses on relationship quality and everyday change

Whether your adult child lives at home or independently, whether they are open to change or resistant — this work meets you where you are.

International participants are welcome — all our courses and resources are available online and can be accessed from anywhere, respecting diverse cultures and family contexts.

About the Facilitator

Annina Schmid is a solution-focused coach and parent support specialist with a background in substance use counselling and psychodynamic psychotherapy, grounded in collaborative, supportive methods.

While Annina holds professional credentials as a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario, Canada, the services offered here are coaching and educational in nature, not regulated mental health treatment. This distinction is important. Coaching does not involve diagnosis, treatment planning, or therapeutic intervention. You are always encouraged to seek professional therapy if you or a family member would benefit from clinical care.

Our Commitment to You

We strive to communicate in a way that is:

  • Honest, respectful, and clear

  • Free of guarantees or promises of specific outcomes

  • Supportive of your autonomy and wellbeing

  • Focused on skills you can use today

Every family is different, and while we share tools that help many parents find more peace and confidence, individual results vary — just as they do with any educational or self-help approach.
